Bridgeport is located on the Metro-North commuter line, which offers daily service to New York City, and regional service to other areas of Connecticut, and also serves as a stop on Amtrak’s regional train lines. The Intermodal Transportation Facility links local bus service with the train station and the Bridgeport/Port Jefferson Ferry terminal. Additionally, Bridgeport’s location in the middle of a confluence of highways—among them Interstate 95, the Merritt Parkway, Route 8 & Route 25, and Route 1 connect the City to many other regions. Bridgeport owns and operates the Sikorsky Memorial Airport, which offers charter air service. The Intermodal Transportation facility also offers interstate bus service. For more information about travel and transportation in Connecticut, visit the CT Department of Transportation website. A statewide bicycling map is also available. Other cycling resources are also available. Check out Connecticut's Interactive Travel Map from the DOT for traffic incidents, public transportation information, and active construction.
